Earlier in the summer, we announced Hospitality North under the direction of industry pro, Cassie Prosper. While we were confident that hotel and restaurant PR had a bright future despite the pandemic, we didn’t know just how quickly things would take off. With more projects underway than she could keep up with, Cassie needed help — luckily she knew just where to find it.

While working as PR Director at Metropolitan Hotels, Cassie worked closely with Amanda Biffis, a promising young communications talent with a passion for visual storytelling, lifestyle writing, and food + travel culture. Amanda impressed with her deft handling of social media for a number of high-profile hospitality brands, including Wahlburgers, Luckee by Susur Lee, Copetin Restaurant & Bar, and SoHo Metropolitan Hotel & Residences. Most recently, while at creative agency The Hot Plate, Amanda managed a range of social media projects, from paid campaigns to influencer relations to reimaging the social presence for leading craft beer brand, Creemore Springs.
Today, we’re thrilled to announce that Amanda has officially joined the NorthPR team as Social Media Content Manager!
Prior to working with Cassie, Amanda cut her teeth at various media and creative organizations around Toronto, including Rogers Communications and The Weather Network. She also helped curate media events including TIFF parties, during which she doubled as an official photographer, capturing shots of A-list celebs like Angelina Jolie, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Liev Schreiber — to name a few.
As a graduate of Western University, Amanda earned her Honors Degree in Media, Information, and Techno-Culture. While at Western, her academic achievements presented her with the opportunity to study abroad at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, where she photo-documented her adventures throughout stunning Southeast Asia.
